What is Arts Integration?

  • Definition: Arts Integration is an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. In this method:

  • Learners engage in a creative process that links an art form (e.g. drama, music, dance, visual art) with another subject (e.g. math, science, social studies, ELA).

  • Both the content area and the arts have evolving, measurable objectives that are taught and assessed in parallel.

How does Learning Center Stage implement Arts Integration?

  • We design lesson plans where arts and content objectives are intentionally aligned.

  • We support teacher collaboration by providing ready-made units and rubrics that integrate arts and curriculum.

  • We build student engagement through creative expression and confidence-building in arts-informed activities.
